    Michael Rubino became Indianapolis Monthly's writer at large in September 2013. He is a former IM associate editor and sometimes-freelance writer who specializes in long-form journalism. A recipient of more than 30 national and state writing/reporting awards, Rubino's work has appeared in The New York Times and the Christian Science Monitor. He is an adjunct lecturer at IUPUI, where he teaches literary journalism for the Indiana University School of Journalism.
