Much to my dismay, John Mayer did not bring his winter tour our way. Well, at least he's making it up to us by coming here this summer. JohnMayer.com reveals the entire Battle Studies 2010 Summer Tour, which includes a Verizon Wireless Music Center stop on August 15.

Tickets go on sale to the public April 24 at 10 a.m. The tour will feature Paperless Ticketing, which requires you to bring the credit card you purchased the tickets and a valid ID to get into the show.

From special guest blogger, Eric Garnes:

I had a chance to check out this year’s Indiana Flower & Patio Show, the theme is A Storybook Garden. Once you step inside the West Pavilion, you know it's spring and about 75 degrees. All through the show, you will see gardens in a storybook setting. For example, there is one my favorites is Mc Elligot’s Pool, featuring a little boy with a small fish at the end of his fishing pole and a touch of Dr. Seuss throughout the garden.
Another favorite was Harry Potter Wizarding Wonders; this featured the Hogwarts train running around a tree in the middle of the garden. I stood watching that train and looking at the garden for at least 5 minutes.
Other exhibits featured, Little House on The Prairie, will take you back to the TV show and what it may have been like to live ...

Different Ways to Celebrate Valentine's Day with the One You Love!

A Night on the Town:

Ads I loved:
Google: A guy's life through Google. This one was my favorite because it told a great story without going over the top with a celebrity or animal. It was beautifully simple.
Snickers:Betty White playing football. You can't really go wrong with Betty White.
Doritos: House Rules. The one with a little boy intimidating his mom's date was pretty good. This was the one exception to the rest of the terrible Doritos commercials.
Budweiser: Overall, Budweiser gets my award for Best Overall campaign because they had the most consistently funny and entertaining ads. My favorite was the Bud Light House.

Losers:
Taco Bell: Charles Barkley "rhyming" about their $5 NBA Box. I can't think of any Taco Bell ad in ...

33 Days to the Oscars!

Only 33 days until Hollywood's biggest night! This morning, Anne Hathaway and the Academy President Tom Sherek announced the nominee's for this year's Academy Awards.

"Avatar" and "The Hurt Locker" lead the pack with 10 nominations each. Sandra Bullock receives her first nomination for "The Blind Side," while Meryl Streep earns her 16th for "Julie & Julia." Christopher Waltz is going to be hard to beat in Best Supporting Actor after his amazing performance in "Inglourious Basterds."

The Best Picture category is especially interesting with films from every spectrum, from the Pixar-animated "Up" to the James Cameron hit "Avatar" to a surprise nomination for "The Blind Side" in the same category. Breaking global box office records, I see "Avatar" as the film to beat, but as we all know, you can't always predict who's going home with the statue.

Here's a list of the notable nominations, but you can find ...

Painting the Mural of the World at the Indianapolis Home Show!

So as I wrote about last week, The Indianapolis Home Show is now in full swing the Indiana State Fairgrounds. I had the pleasure of helping at the Mural of the World exhibit at the Home Show, and it was a great time!

Now, I know when you go to the Home Show, there are hundreds and hundreds of booths trying to get you to purchase their product or lure you in to get your business. But the Mural of the World is totally FREE and really just a great way to show what we can do together as a community when we all put in a little effort. Every person who participated, walked away saying, "This was so much fun!"

If you missed it this weekend, you can still catch the Mural of the World this Saturday and Sunday for the last two days of the Home Show. The ...

Let's Meet Up at the Indianapolis Home Show!

The Indianapolis Home Show returns to the Indiana State Fairgounds this weekend! Last year was my first visit to the Home Show, and I didn't realize how HUGE the show is. Taking up several pavilions, it's no wonder it runs 10 days to give you enough time to explore it all.

From Friday, January 29th - Sunday, February 7th, the Indianapolis Home Show has hundreds of ways to experience home building, remodeling, and home décor. There are celebrity speakers, exhibitors, and even some activities.

One of my favorite things about the Indianapolis Home Show is the Centerpiece Home. Every year, a different builder fully constructs a home inside the pavilion. This year, Davis Building Group is creating a 2,650 square-foot home, fully decorated and landscaped inside the Home Show. It's fascinating to walk past these exhibitor booths and then all of a sudden, you're at the front step of a ...

Get Colts Crazy for the AFC Championship!

The Colts are only one game away from a trip to the Super Bowl, and our city is turning blue to support the team!
