She's still just hanging out in there. We have a doctor appointment on Friday morning. That will hopefully give me a better time frame. Today I walked around for a couple of hours and even pulled weeds for an hour. I'm trying everything I can think of to convince her to go ahead and come out. :)

Overall, I'm still feeling really good. I've even lost 5 pounds. That puts my total weight gain at 30 pounds. Not too bad for eating ice cream almost every single day of my pregnancy. Pretty soon I won't have an excuse for eating all of that ice cream...so I'd better take advantage of it now.

She's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It was a tough labor and delivery, but well worth it.

Now my husband and I are just doing the best we can for our little girl. We are sleep deprived and learning as we go. Breast feeding is much more challenging than I had imagined, but we are both getting the hang of it.

We went for Livy's first doctor's appointment today. She has lost a little weight, which is common in baby's first few days. We also got a more accurate idea of her length. It was nice having it confirmed that we haven't managed to mess her up yet and she's all healthy.

I'm so excited! It has started to feel like I was just going to be pregnant for ever. It is finally sinking in that little Olivia will be right here in my arms soon. I couldn't be happier!

I'm so ready to meet her. I even have dreams about what little Olivia will look like almost every night.

I just got back from my week 38 appointment and the doctor said that I am still only 1 cm dilated. But the baby has dropped more into place. It's an odd feeling. Toward the top of my stomach where it used to be really hard, is now soft and empty feeling when I push on it. Her sitting lower has really helped me feel better though. My ribs don't hurt much now and my hands and feet haven't been swelling as much. I do have to use the bathroom more often though. I'm pretty sure she thinks it's funny to squish mommy's bladder. :)

Since my baby bump is pretty much finished growing by this week, I've put together a ...

The Nursery is Finished!

My husband and I finished the nursery last night! We finally bought a crib mattress and put all of the cute bedding on it. I'm a little nervous about the bumper pads in the crib. I can definitely see what all of the controversy over them is now. I tied them as tightly as I could to the rails, but you never know what the baby could do and how they might suffocate on them. I am going to leave them in for now though and do some more research. If anyone out there has some insight on bumper pads I would love to hear it. SIDS is my worst fear and I want to do everything possible to prevent it.

At the 36 week check-up last week, the nurse/midwife determined that I am about one centimeter dilated. This doesn't seem to mean too much though. I have talked to ...

End of Pregnancy Aches

I'm 35 weeks along now and definitely feeling it. I can't walk very far without my back hurting and my feet swelling, and I'm now wearing my wedding ring on my pinky finger for the most part because my hands have become so swollen. I think I'm also getting carpal tunnel and have started feeling contractions every once in a while. Needless to say, I'm ready for baby Olivia to come out into the world now. And there's still about 4 more weeks to go!

I don't want to seem like a big complainer though. This makes me realize just how good I've had it so far. And luckily I am still able to move around and go places. I have talked to many women who were on bed rest for several months before they went into labor. I am very thankful to be up and about.

Last week I took ...

The Beginnings of a Nursery

I started working on the baby's nursery this weekend. It was so much fun and it's turning out to be really cute. With the help of my mom, the room is about 75% finished now. I still need to put the changing table, recliner and crib mattress in there before it is complete. Being able to put the bedding in the crib and on the mattress will really tie the room together. I was nervous that it wouldn't look cute since I can't paint the walls, but it is turning out just perfectly.

I am not a crafty person, but I have been trying to decorate the nursery on a budget. My mom and I ended up taking an old flower pot and decorating it with ribbon and fake flowers to match the room, we made the four square pictures that are hanging up out of Styrofoam and scrapbook paper, and ...

Second Baby Shower

The lovely ladies here at work put a baby shower on for me last Thursday. There were so many yummy desserts there that I ended up eating until I felt sick. It was great! :) Olivia has a ton of cute clothes now. They're all so adorable that I'm having a hard time deciding what to bring her home in from the hospital once that time comes.

My husband and I made some of the final "big" purchases for the nursery this weekend. We bought a crib and a pack-and-play. Both of which were on sale. I love getting good deals! So this weekend we are finally going to start assembling the nursery. We still need to get a crib mattress though. I can't believe how expensive those little things are!

We also went to our final baby class this weekend. It's amazing how much I learned. It was really nice to ...

First Baby Shower

Baby Olivia and I had such a great weekend! We went to the No Doubt concert on Friday, to baby class on Saturday, and had a baby shower on Sunday.

The concert on Friday night was amazing! It was a sold out show, and I saw three other pregnant women. I talked to one woman who is due just a few weeks after me. We sat in the pavilion, so luckily I had a seat. But once the band started playing, it was tough not to get on your feet and dance. By the end of the night, my feet and ankles looked like they belonged to an elephant instead of a girl.

Saturday's baby class was the best yet! We worked on relaxation techniques for labor. So my husband had to give me lots of massages. It was great! I don't think he enjoyed it quite as much as ...

False Alarm

So I made a trip to the emergency room on Saturday night. I had been having dull constant cramps in my stomach for about 24 hours and towards the evening hours on Saturday they were getting worse. I called the on-call doctor and he said it was difficult to determine anything over the phone, so I should go to the ER. It turns out that the cramps were not contractions. Yay! I can't wait to meet my baby Olivia, but she needs to hang in there and keep growing for just a little longer. They think that I may have just been dehydrated. And now I'm back to feeling pretty good (as good as one can feel when they're 30 weeks pregnant and as big as a house). My husband was amazingly supportive through the entire ordeal.

On another note, my sister is throwing me a baby shower this weekend! ...
