No matter what image appears when you close your eyes and imagine walking in a Winter Wonderland, the Circle City has plenty of magical spots for you to stroll through and sip on hot cocoa. Here are our Top Three picks this Holiday Season:
Open Tuesday - Sunday at 5 & 7PM
Stroll Winterlights at Newfields from November 19th through January 7th amid the glow of a million bulbs—you know the song Walking in a Winter Wonderland? Now you can actually do it, ambling side-by-side with family and friends through memorable holiday light displays, in forest, field and gardens—from “whimsy trees” to the Snowflake Bridge to the grand Allée.
Celebrate the holidays all season long in a winter wonderland at Festival of Trees Nov. 17 through Jan. 6. This year we have 80 beautifully themed trees plus a 30-foot show-stopper in Eli Lilly Hall – you have to see it to believe it! You can vote for your favorites, but it will be a tough choice.
Christmas at the zoo was a great way to wrap up our Thanksgiving break! Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in 4-D was a nice addition to this family tradition, and we were at the zoo for 2.5 hours without any tantrums, meltdowns, or tears (unless you count Cordelia's encounter with Santa). It was a #christmasatthezoo miracle! // #igersindychristmas
Nov. 24-26, 29-30; Dec. 1-3, 6-10, 13-23, 26-30 | Festivities 5-9pm • NEW Fridays and Saturdays extended 5-10pm!
The tradition of Christmas at the Zoo presented by Donatos and Teachers Credit Union is bigger than ever this year. We've added thousands more lights as well as the enchanted, new Santa's Village under the Bicentennial Pavilion. The whimsical wintertime scenes feel as if you've stepped inside a snow globe!
