Kate Upton: I love being a woman
Kate Upton was “excited” about becoming a woman.
The blonde model may only be 22 but she has already earned a big reputation in the fashion industry, posing for the likes of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and being the new face of cosmetics company Bobbi Brown. She is envied by women around the world for her perfect curves, and Kate realizes how lucky she is to have been blessed with such a figure.
“When I first started modeling, I was a normal catalogue model,” she told the September issue of British Elle magazine.
“Then, I became a woman, and I was really excited about becoming a woman. Because I’m from Florida, it’s all about being in bathing suits. It’s a different view of beauty there. You are ugly if you don’t have a curvy body. And I didn’t have one, and then I got one, and thought, ‘Yessss!’”
She began her career at Miami’s Elite Model Management in 2008, before moving to IMG Models in New York. Despite the odd comment or two on her body being different from those usually seen in the limelight, Kate oozes confidence.
“And then people say: ‘Oh, wow, you’re healthy,’” she added. “And you’re like, ‘Wait – what? I’ve been begging for this body my whole life!’”
On the cover of the publication Kate is seen wearing a printed jacket over a polo-necked leotard, stretching out her flawless pins.
When she isn’t rocking a bathing suit the fashion star enjoys dressing down in a casual ensemble. However, it isn’t her outfits alone which make Kate feel comfortable in her own skin.
“My mom always told me that it’s all about confidence; it’s not about what you’re actually wearing. Anytime you walk into a room, just smile, and nobody will even look at what you’re wearing,” she previously said.
