Now, this is the story all about how… a YouTube trailer is responsible for rebooting the series: ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was a 90’s comedy involving a West Philly kid who moved to Bel-Air to live with his uncle and aunt. The beloved show came to an end over 20 years ago but the cast remains close and recently reunited on Snapchat.

Morgan Cooper, a big fan of Fresh Prince, decided to create and direct a dramatic trailer based on the show and called it Bel-Air. The trailer went viral and soon caught the attention of Will Smith. The two have since teamed up to make a Fresh Prince reboot based on Cooper’s trailer. The original producers, Quincy Jones, and Benny Medina will also return alongside Will Smith as exec producers. All three are set to co-write the script alongside Cooper. They are currently shopping around to different streaming services including Peacock, Netflix, and HBO Max.
