The Super Bowl is this weekend! Along with the epic battle that will take place between the two teams on the field, viewers will also be tuning in to watch the always exciting halftime show! Halftime shows at the Super Bowl have always been the best and with the lineup this year, we expect nothing less!

There is something about watching artists of all genres perform together in sync on one stage that makes it special every time. Out of all of them though, some stand out more than others according to viewers.

1.     2012 Beyoncé as a Rock Star

Beyoncé as a Rockstar has to be one of the best halftime show performances in recent years. In this pre-recorded performance, Beyoncé rocks out with her dancers dressed as Rockstar’s and belting out their individual tunes. Dressed from head to toe in black leather, they really embody the look and feel of a Rockstar. In true Beyoncé fashion, she pulls out all the stops with her hit song Single Ladies mixing in with the rest of her tunes included in this medley.

2.  1994 Diana Ross & 1994 Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

In 1994, big band music was still going strong. Diana Ross is the epitome of the big band music era which made this performance special. Her love for music really comes through in her singing as well as all of her dance moves with her backup dancers. She puts on a great show that many people still remember today.

3.  2004 Janet Jackson & 2004 Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake

2004 was a big year for Janet Jackson. On top of the success she had with her single All for you , this halftime show performance came along to realize yet another great achievement in her career. In what turned out to be the most controversial Super Bowl half time show performance, Janet Jackson brings sexy back with Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown performing along side her. Even with the controversies surrounding Justin Timberlake tearing off part of Janet Jackson’s top , it still doesn’t take away from the popularity of this performance in the 2005 Super Bowl.

4.  2002 U2 & 2002 Green Day

The year 2002 was a great year for music and that is evident in this halftime show performance. U2 and Green Day perform some of their classic songs on stage together. In a world of controversy surrounding artists, especially in the music industry, it is amazing to see artists come together and show whether you like them or not that they do great things when they put their minds together.

5. 1991 Michael Jackson with 1991 James Brown and 1991 Gloria Estefan

Michael Jackson’s songs were already known to the world, but this performance showed that he could do more than just play his music on a stage. He brought other great musicians with him and put together a mini concert showcasing what these artists were capable of doing. It was a great show to watch and many people still remember it today.
