That's right. The King of Pop looks to be coming to the big screen.
King's "Bohemian Rhapsody" won Rami Malek an Oscar for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury, and the biopic was an overwhelming success. Now he's turning his attention to the complex life of Indiana native, Michael Jackson.
"In this case, the complexity of Jackson’s life is well known and will not be ignored in a film that will span his entire life, which ended with his tragic death in June 2009 at age 50. He became a star as a child and a global icon as an adult, but his childhood was not an easy one, and in adulthood he had to defend himself and paid out settlements over allegations of sexual abuse of child companions who routinely stayed at his house for sleepovers."
Bohemian Rhapsody tackled homosexuality and AIDS with Freddie Mercury in that film. Now, King and writer John Logan will have a much bigger challenge of how to handle the controversy surrounding Michael Jackson's personal life.
This movie will join the list of biopics that have already been released about music legends Queen (Bohemian Rhapsody), Elton John (Rocketman), NWA (Straight Outta Compton) that have been released over the last five years.
There's no date for production or release yet.
