WINNERS: 2017 B105.7 Christmas Choir Competition presented by Franciscan Health

Congratulations to Creekside Elementary, Franklin Community Middle School & High School Choirs!

Say hello to your 2017 B105.7 Christmas Choir Competition presented by Franciscan Health winners! Tune in to B105.7 at 6PM on Christmas Eve and at 10AM Christmas Day to hear our winners on Indy's Christmas Station!

Creekside Cougar Choir

Director: Terra Bell | 52 members | Franklin, Indiana

The Creekside Cougar Choir is an extra-curricular group of 4th grade singers.  This is the very first year for these students to sing in a choir and they are doing an outstanding job so far this year!  The Cougar Choir represents Creekside Elementary School by performing at various school and community events.  This is Creekside's first time to enter the B105.7 Christmas Choir Competition, and the whole school is so excited about this event!

What they plan to do with their $2,000 courtesy of Franciscan Health:

With the extra money, the Creekside Cougar Choir would have the opportunity to purchase new stage equipment, instruments, and uniforms for seasonal performances.  With these items, the Cougar Choir would be in a position to thrive and make a greater impact upon the lives of those who participate as well as the lives of those who attend the performances.  The Cougar Choir strongly believes that an early introduction to the performing arts is a building block for life-long learning – it helps to build social skills, community involvement, and enhances academic skills. Therefore, the B105.7 Christmas Choir Competition is an excellent opportunity to benefit the Creekside students, the Franklin Community School Corporation, and the community of Franklin, Indiana!

Franklin Community Middle School Women's Honors Choir

Director: Kelsey Coram | 36 members | Franklin, Indiana

The FCMS Women's Honors Choir is a select group of 7th and 8th grade women who perform in school as well as throughout the Franklin community.

What they plan to do with their $2,000 courtesy of Franciscan Health:

Should we be lucky enough to win $2000, the students would be able to practice more frequently with an accompanist rather than the skills of their choir teacher.

Franklin Community High School Signature Sound

Director: Michael Hummel | 95 members | Franklin, Indiana

Signature Sound is Franklin Community High School’s premiere auditioned varsity mixed repertoire choir that is open to all students in grades 9-12 Signature performs and competes at extra-curricular events and contests throughout the greater Franklin and Indianapolis communities and is the current Indiana State School Music Association's Concert Choir STATE CHAMPION.

What they plan to do  with their $2,000 courtesy of Franciscan Health:

The winnings from this contest would go directly back to students, as a Christmas gift, for those who need financial assistance to participate as part of this year's choir tour to Chicago in April.
