Shoefies: The New Selfie

Presented by IPL Downtown Freedom Fest

We've all seen them. We've all done them—whether we like to admit it or not. Selfies are a thing.

Well although those days aren't even close to being long gone, the whole idea of selfies needs to take a step back because a "new and improved" photo opportunity has made its way onto the scene—shoefies.

No, that's not a typo. The word is exactly what it looks like—a selfie of your foot. Now, we're not talking about just a photo of your sneakers on asphalt or on the carpet, but a picture of your feet on a backdrop that is bound to catch eyes while scrolling through social media. And since social media and photo sharing sites have taken America by storm, what better way to express your patriotism and gratitude than at IPL's Downtown Freedom Fest!?

While celebrating Fourth of July at the Indiana War Memorial, you'll find the "shoefies" (as seen below) on the ground.

You'll be able to place your feet where ever you like and snap an aerial picture to post on social media to show your American pride. And you never know, that snap could win you VIP tickets to see the fireworks from the best seats in town - all you have to do is share and use #FreedomFestIndy!
