The Thing Happy Couples Fight About The Most
If you’re fighting about this, it might be a good thing. The thing that happy couples fight about the most. That’s this week’s Tune Up Tuesday – a little nugget you can use to tune up your relationship. Tuesday mornings around 8:20 on B105.7.
They actually found that couples who describe themselves as being in happy marriages tend to argue about issues that can be practically solved – who does the housework, how to spend the weekend. Things like that.
And they tend to talk less about things that may not have a clear path to a resolution. So, there may be no need to have that conversation about your overbearing mother in law for the 14th time.
The bottom line or the takeaway here for you is that happy couples tend to take a solution oriented approach to conflict. So, make sure that when you approach conflict in your relationship that you’re not doing it in a complaining sort of way or a working to get your way sort of thing, but in more of a solution oriented way. How do we make this better is a good question to ask.
In addition to hosting mornings on B105.7, Sean Copeland is studying to be a therapist.
