Gimme a break!  You may have said that a time or two in your life … or maybe a lot, especially lately.  We often feel say this when we are exasperated or hurt or slighted.  But there is definitely merit to giving yourself a break these days.

At any given moment you may find yourself working, teaching, paying bills, or cleaning.  Heck, you may find yourself doing all of that within an hour on a typical day.

Things definitely look different now.  What once was normal is no longer the norm. And that can be stressful. But instead of putting pressure on yourself or worse, beating yourself up, because you haven’t maintained your workout routine or that your kids are spending more times on their screens, give yourself a break.

Allow structure and routine to help you, not bind you.  Feeling guilty, because you slacked in an area or not getting everything done, isn’t productive. How about less guilt and more grace for yourself?

Your challenge for today is adjust expectations for yourself, which may mean giving yourself something you need – a break.
