In addition to hosting mornings on B105.7, I work in the afternoons as a therapist at Evolve Therapy in Greenwood, IN… and on Tuesday mornings, I share some of what I’ve learned with you. I call it Tune Up Tuesday, as they’re little nuggets you can use to “tune up” relationships in your life. Here’s today’s:
Given enough time, frustration will eventually make an appearance in most every relationship, but why? It’s largely because of our expectations. We all have them. Some spoken. Some unspoken. Your expectations in a relationship determine how you experience a relationship. Think about it – when your expectations are being met, life is grand. When your expectations go unmet, frustration ensues. So, if I could have you take away one thing from reading this, it would be… Your expectations determine your experience.
