Listen Live

In addition to hosting mornings on B105.7, I work in the afternoons as a licensed therapist for couples and individuals.  On Tuesday mornings I’ll share a nugget or two you might be able to use to sort of “tune up” a relationship in your life or your own mental health.  I call it Tune Up Tuesday.

This morning – why I would encourage you to embrace being hurt!

Sometimes we try to avoid being hurt and in the process we avoid having honest conversations.  If you keep yourself closed off to avoid pain, you’re also going to avoid closeness, emotional intimacy, and those stronger feelings of love, connection, and belonging – which we all need.

In a healthy relationship, you HAVE to learn how to open up and share from your heart.  And you have to listen to your partner and be open to being affected by their words and their feelings – even if it’s difficult or painful.
