You May Be Deliberately Withholding This Without Even Realizing It

Tune Up Tuesday – a little nugget you might be able to use to “tune things up” between you and your significant other.  I am one week away from being done with a masters degree to be a therapist.  And so, on Tuesdays I share some of what I’ve learned with you.

Today – something you may be deliberately withholding from your partner without even realizing it.

If someone’s ever been passive aggressive toward you, you know how icky that feels.  And it can creep into your relationship by way of backhanded compliments, procrastination, or silent treatment.  Good communication leads to clarity.  Passive-aggression is deliberately withholding clarity… and that can take a healthy relationship and spoil it quickly.  So to avoid it, if you’re struggling with something… bring it to light or it’ll eventually come out in some other… likely unhelpful way.
